Yesterday was a sunny day, and a good day. We took a walk trough the city in the morning and walked by people demonstrating. We thought it would be more people there than it was, maybe the sunny weather was more inviting.
In the evening I went to Lund and Anna and went to listen to the choir that annually (to welcome the spring) performs at the stairs to the main building of the Lund University, which they also broadcast on TV.

It’s not too late yet, it’s only the 23d today :) I know someone who needs to write some job applications, which I will do. Ok, I will do it, later. No I’d better do it now.
When I’m done I’ll go outside for a photo-hunt. I can’t wait! I Love to have my bike here in Malmö because I don’t have to take the bus, and biking is faster than walking :)
Here are some of the pictures. I especially like #3 for a funny reason ha ha! Once I came up with the idea to say “hi” to Erik through the mail slot. #2 is a very colorful LP disc. #17 I don’t like to do the dishes. #19 is an orange orange. #5 are tine basil plants. #10 is a box of very cold raspberries.

Visst är det härligt med våren? Månadens tema på Söta Saker är Sagolikt, och vad är inte mer sagolikt än körsbärsblom?
Jag passade på att lyxa till det lite extra och gjorde en moussbakelse fylld med vanilj- och hallonmousse. Botten är “brownie-inspirerad” och lite för god för ens eget bästa (lägg hackad mörk choklad i smeten om du gillar det). Chokladbotten passar utmärkt till den lite syrliga hallonmoussen, ovanpå är det en hallongéle som också bryter av lite mot det söta.
Sagolikt gott måste jag säga, vi blev förvånade över hur bra det smakade! hoppas det goda syns i bilderna. Recepten är egenkomponerade så att inga ägg behöver slängas. Bon apetit!
Recept:
Det krävs lite förberedelse, men så fort man är igång så går det enkelt. Jag gjorde 6 stycken bakelser, men det går lika fort att göra dubbelt så många. Det blir chokladkaka över, men den går ju superbra att äta som den är :)
Innan du börjar, se till att du har allt hemma. Gör 2 stycken strutar i bakplåtspapper som du behöver för att spritsa ut moussen. Gör 6 stycken cylindrar i overheadfilm.
Det går precis lika bra att göra en stor kaka istället för flera små, men den behöver stelna något längre.
Kakan
100 g smör/margarin
2 dl socker
3/4 dl kakao
2 ägg
2 msk sirap
1 nypa salt
1 dl mjöl
Vispa smör och socker mjukt och lite fluffigt, tillsätt kakao, sirap och salt, vispa. Tillsätt äggen ett och ett. Rör sedan försiktigt i mjölet. (Det ska inte vara bakpulver i kakan). Häll i en smörad och bröad (“bröa” med vetemjöl) form, sätt in i ugnen på 175 grader i ca 15 min. Kakan ska vara lite kladdig. Låt kallan.
Vaniljmousse
1,5 gelantinblad
2 äggulor
3/4 dl florsocker
1 dl grädde
1 tsk grädde
3/4 dl vaniljyoghurt
1/2 tsk vaniljsocker
Vispa ägg och florsocker vitt och pösigt. Lägg gelantinbladen i kallt vatten (lägg 3 blad i vatten, du behöver 1,5 st till hallonmoussen). Vispa grädden (vispa 2 dl grädde på en gång, du behöver 1 dl till hallonmoussen). Smält gelantinbladen i en kastrull i 1 tsk grädde och rör i vaniljyoghurten.
Blanda äggblandning, grädde, yoghurt och vaniljsocker. Ställ åt sidan.
Hallonmousse
2 äggvitor
1 dl socker
150 g tinade hallon
1 dl grädde
1,5 gelantinblad
Vispa äggvitorna till fast skum. Vispa i sockret gradvis och vispa tills smeten är glansig och vit.
Passera hallonen genom en sil så att kärnorna kommer bort. Lägg lite av hallonpurén i en liten kastrull och värm på, låt sedan 1,5 stycken av gelantinbladen smälta där i. blanda i resten av hallonpurén.
Blanda hallon, grädde och maräng. Ställ åt sidan.
Sedan..
Stansa ut chokladbottnar med cylindrarna som är gjorda av overheadfilmen. Då får du en kaka som passar precis. Fyll pappersstrutarna med moussen (du behöver ingen tyll, klipp bara av toppen så den blir lagom stor). Börja med den vita och spritsa den utmed kanterna (se bilden). Fyll sedan upp mitten med hallonmoussen. Toppa med vaniljmoussen. Ställ i kylen.
Gör gélen, passera 1 dl hallon i en sil, värm sedan purén med 1 tsk socker och 2 msk vatten. Lägg 1 gelantinblad i kallt vatten. Efter ca 5 min krama ut gelantinbladet och smält det i hallonpurén. låt svalna i rumstemperatur, när det är sådär lagom tjockt, fördela på bakelserna och låt stelna i kyl. Ta bort plastfilmen innan servering. Dekorera med grädde och bär. Klart :)
(I made these little cakes this weekend and they turned out great! They could have been bought in a bakery. It’s “brownie cake” with raspberry and vanilla mousse. I was inspired by cherry blossom, my favorite flowers. This is also my contribution to Söta saker.)

Erik and I went to his parents over the weekend. We didn’t do much, but we had a pretty good time anyway.. we rented a car and drove there, that was fun, and it was kind of fun that we did things like we normally don’t do too. It was a strange weekend, but kind of good after all..:)

Have you seen the movie Arn? They filmed it in this area of Sweden. The scenery is beautiful here.
I’m spending the weekend with Erik and his family. Yesterday we took a walk in the woods outside the house. It was really nice but cold. The spring is here, but sometimes it feels like we live in Siberia.. I can’t wait for the summer.
This morning we saw some deers in the garden ha ha! it was kind of funny. I have to show you a picture of some candy we bought the other day in a Polish grocery store in Malmö. It’s fun to eat something that you don’t really know what it is. But it tasted pretty good ;)
Do the birds fly? Is the coffee good?

Yesterday I had coffee at Grannens (translated: The Neighbor), a café not far from here. The funny thing is that the girl who works there (seems like every day) speaks English, Or no, maybe it’s not funny, and not very strange either, but at least different.
I don’t know if I like the place or not, but the piece of cake (spice cake) I bought yesterday was good. It was just annoying that I couldn’t decide if it was made from scratch or if it was made from cake mix, and since I took it with me I couldn’t ask..
Whatever, took it with me, and got it in a little plastic box :) usually you get a paper bag. I thought it was kind of funny.
Maybe I should say that currently I eat more unhealthy stuff than normally (I KNOW it’s no good) because I want to put on some weight. My troublesome tooth made me lose 2 kg. I’m still thankful that it’s over, gosh that was not fun at all :)
Whooo! I saw an advertising about a baking competition on a Swedish Tv-channel called Sjuan (channel seven). I sent an application, and they e-mailed me back and said they wanted to know more about me. So it means I’m among a group of people who might be in the tv-show. Pretty cool :) Honestly I don’t think they will choose me, but it was fun that they e-mailed me back. it doesn’t happen every day.
If everything was possible, I would like to arrange the biggest coffee-and-cake-picnic ever, and invite every one I know, and every one they know too. That would be awesome! :)
Look at these birds, you see them all over the city, but I don’t know if they can fly. I guess they can haha! because it would take ages for them to walk. Maybe they’re just lazy :)

Today I bought a KeepCup from Espresso House. With a pink lid, of course. The weather is getting warmer, and I really like to drink my coffee outside. The good thing with this is that you can bring your own cup with you to the coffee shops, which is kind of Eco friendly. At least they say so :)

I love to see when the sun goes up, I love that it’s quiet, sometimes I really like to eat breakfast alone.
If it wasn’t for that Erik still is sleeping I would take a walk, but I think he would get a heart attack if he woke up and I wasn’t here (note: I could write a note, or send him a text, but I think it’s still cold outside and I think I prefer to stay inside, but don’t tell anyone ;) ). And by the way, I can wait for an hour. Something I can’t wait for though, is the spring and summer..:)
Just have to add that I really like my new pyjamas pants, my favorite color :)

For six weeks have we been following the competitors in “Melodifestivalen“, thank god it’s over.
We thought either Danny, or Loreen would win. Loreen won, pretty good because the song is kind of international.. I thought Molly Sandén was pretty good too..
The next question is, how will it go for Loreen in the big competition? Maybe on 4th place (at least?), we’ll have to wait until May to see.. and by then I guess everyone in this country will have heard that song at least 99 times :)
Melancholia – a movie worth watching.

Last week I rented 3 movies, and if you do, you can keep them for a week. One of the was Melancholia. I have to say I really lied it, even though it’s very strange at some parts. It’s directed by Lars Von Trier, and Kirsten Dunst and Alexander Skarsgård has two of the main roles. It’s said that they didn’t have a script and that the director just said.. oh say something like this, and hey say something like that haha! I don’t know, but the actors do a great job. It’s kind of interesting because it was filmed not so far away from where I lived before (at Tjolöholm, on the west coast of Sweden).
Justine (Kirsten Dunst) and Michael (Alexander Skarsgård) is getting married and the party is held in a castle (her dress is just gorgeous, makes me want to get married). A lot of things happens, and you understand not everything is as it should between all the family members. And then you think: ah that’s why this movies is called Melancholia, but nope! An enormous planet is moving towards earth, that’s the planet Melancholia..
I can really recommend this movie, watch it :)
Princess Estelle

Everyone is talking about Estelle, the new princess in the Swedish royal family. There has been a debate about her name, but honestly let the crown princess and her husband Daniel decide that. In 40 years when she’ll become a queen (if that’s the case..), I guess the name Estelle will work just fine. I think it’s a nice name.

My sister got married a couple of weeks ago, the wedding took place in Varberg, but then we had the dinner in a house 30 minutes from the city. My parents had rented a house for three days, it was huuuge! The bed was huge, the chairs was huge.. It was a really fantastic wedding, we had made all the food ourselves, and I was “toastmaster”. They got sooo many presents! I can’t wait for the wedding pictures :)

Learning to appreciate the dark

I think I have to learn to appreciate the dark here, it’s so dark. I tried to take a walk yesterday, but I had to walk back to get a flash light. Should I tell you why? Haha! Because I accidentally almost walked right into the ditch (the ditch that is more like a smaller lake or a moss). Then I found myself walking in the middle of the woods, on a small road.. And I thought of that Robert Frost poem about the wheel that pours the sand.. And that I probably should be afraid of animals, moose, rabbits, foxes or I don’t know why haha! Or at least a creepy man.. That made it sound like creepy men are animals, but that was not my intention.. So I walked back.

Old pictures.. Some pictures from my old apartment, what I apparently had for lunch, and a picture of “the pineapple top”. The pictures are from my old blog and for you who remember (I guess no one since I had forgot myself :) ) that is the pineapple top I wanted plant so it could be a plant. that pineapple top is a plant today :).

Yes, thats true.
Malmö is divided into different “parts” and one of them is called Rosengård (Rose garden). Confession – I have never been there. Last week I asked (let’s not mention any names) (a part of me wanted to go, another part didn’t :) )if we couldn’t go shopping for groceries at City Gross (that has nothing to do with something gross LOL), but we didn’t because of the same reason as everyone else. This area of the city is known for being pretty rough, and I guess (I think I know, or I know) it’s true. But I mean people live there.. anyway..There is a very long and tall building there called Kinesiska muren (translated: The Great Wall of China). I can’t understand what it is with me and ugly places. I wrote ugly, if someone doesn’t agree, please excuse me for using a less good word to describe the place :).
