Afraid of the dentist, me?

When I was little I was afraid of the dentist. I don’t know if afraid is strong enough to describe my fear :) I remember how the dentist pulled me in my legs while I was grabbing the edge of a table, I was basically hanging in the air, haha! But that was 20 years ago

When I was eleven or twelve some teeth popped up in my mouth, why? And I had to have them pulled out. It was a nightmare for me, and the dentist. Four teeth! Ouch!

I have an appointment on Friday. Believe me this is POSITIVE THINKING! A couple od hours ago I caught myself thinking:

-What am I afraid of? Of the pain? maybe..

-I shouldn’t be thinking about this..

-I have to think positive.. it’s just thoughts. And my thoughts makes me feel this way (Ok, I know that’s not 100% correct, but anyway..)

-What have I been afraid of.. ahh to talk in front of a lot of people.. but I love that now, I could do that 7 days a week.. strange!

-Ahh and I know what advice I would give a friend.. you have to trick your body, let it know you’re relaxed.. remember the brain doesn’t understand the word NOT. I have to breathe, hahaha!

-OMG! how can I be thinking about this, it’s silly!! Compose yourself.

-haha! if they told me now I had to pull out a tooth, I don’t think I would be too afraid. I think I can do it..hahaha!

Thank god, I know I’ll survive!

Hello everyone, I’m currently updating my blog to add a more inspiring and welcoming appearance to it. That’s why it looks kind of a miss match right now.. but give me a couple of days :)

Currently I’m reading Angels and Demons by Dan Brown, not a minute too late. I guess everyone read it five years ago, or when it was released. I often choose books by their covers. I don’t know if that’s good or bad. I also like to read fast.. My goal is now to finish this book, that’s not difficult because I have any difficulties reading, but because it was quite long ago since I read a novel etc. four years (I think) at the university has meant reading a lot. At least 300 pages/week I guess. Now I just have to convince myself I enjoy reading just because it’s fun, which I know I do.

It’s winter, it’s cold outside, but the sun is shining in. I love reading in that kind of wintery sunlight that escapes through windows and makes time stand still. Lovely!

Wednesday – a job inteview, and an aching wrist

I was on a job interview today, it was fun! I think there were like 30 other people wh also had applied for the job, but you never know. I can only hope for the best.

Then, on my way from there to the bus I fell, head over heals, but backwards. There was a frozen puddle with snow on, of course, why? Why do I live in this icy country? No one saw me, that’s good. My wrist and hand hurts, that’s’ bad, but I think it’ll be better in a couple of days :)

There was three women who interviewed us fo 2,5 minutes each. They asked me if I was still living with my parents. No I don’t. And I haven’t done that since.. I can’t remember but 4 years maybe.. I really hope I wasn’t rude, because sometimes when people ask me I put too much stress on the NO! :) It was not my intention.

I got a Triss lott today, and won 50kr. That’s not much, but t’s something. 5 l milk, or a magazine, or 2,5 kg of apples, or 1 top/t-shirt from H&M, or 5 coffee cups from IKEA, or 2 cups of coffee from Espresso House.

Starbucks will open at the central station in Malmö in maybe 2 or 4 weeks. Every teen from the area (and all their friends, and everyone they know, and probably everyone else too) will be there. I’ll wait until the storm is over. I really want a take-way cup from there, because they’re airtight and coffeetight, but I’ll wait. At least 2 months ;)

Yesterday we (Erik and I) took a walk, and we walked by this playground. OMG! When I see something like this I wish I was 5 years old LOL! Why didn’t they build things like these in the early 90′s? We had to walk in there just to take a look. Then we passed a skateboard “park”. I mean watch out so you don’t fall down there.. It looks incredibly dangerous :)

Anyways, I don’t have a job, but I have this stupid idea to apply for one job every day. Haha! I’ve finished school. If you didn’t know.. all this means I’m kind of unemployed. I’m NOT used to this and it feels like I’m going crazy. Last year I had three jobs at the same time, which on the other hand wasn’t good for me.. It’s had to find a balance. Last week I took a walk to a pet shop (is that what you call it?) and looked at the guinea pigs and rabbits. Talk about wasting your time. This is just NOT my style, but I have promised myself not to work in an old people’s home again. Ever! I could almost start going to church, and pray, so I won’t have to do it, so I really hope I’ll find a job soon :)

My sister got married a couple of weeks ago, the wedding took place in Varberg, but then we had the dinner in a house 30 minutes from the city. My parents had rented a house for three days, it was huuuge! The bed was huge, the chairs was huge.. It was a really fantastic wedding, we had made all the food ourselves, and I was “toastmaster”. They got sooo many presents! I can’t wait for the wedding pictures :)

Almond cookies and Almond fig muffins

I had marzipan at home and came up with the idea to make cookies. I’ll share the recipes:

Almond cookies

150 g marzipan

50 ml powder sugar

1 egg white

1/4 tablespoon lemon juice

extra powder sugar

Use an electric mixer, mix the marzipan until soft, whisk the egg white lightly, add it together with the lemon juice. Mix the batter until smooth. Put the batter in a forcing bag. Make small cookies – use baking paper, sift powder sugar on the cookies. Put them in the oven (150 degrees celsius) for about 12-15 minutes or until the edges are light brown.

I added the rest of the marzipan (50 g) to a muffin batter and added finely chopped figs (3). They were not so sweet so I made a simple icing and drizzled it on top of them.

(I used what we I Sweden call mandelmassa, 50% sugar 50% almonds. That’s the thing to use. It might be called marzipan somewhere else :). Marzipan in Sweden is made of 30% almonds and 60% sugar. Just a note).
